Have you heard of Humans of New York? I love their Facebook posts because they bring people into my life who have a story to tell. Today while watching episode 2 of their new series a man said, “I don’t want to be remembered. I didn’t achieve my dream.” If I could tell him one thing, it would be this, “Your value isn’t attached to your accomplishments.”
If I could tell him one thing, it would be this, “Your value isn’t attached to your accomplishments.”
For those of you who came home from work today feeling discouraged, or perhaps you returned from a writing conference without the interest you thought would be there, well I say to you: Your value as a person isn’t determined by success. I felt like that needed to said. Regardless of how much I love writing or being a mom. I know my value isn’t found in those things.
My value is found in how I treat others and my relationship with God. If I put God first, then I know I’ll be okay. Try to set aside the disappointments of today and realize that those moments do not define you.
