Today was a monumental day for my family. It’s a day that I’ve prayed to see happen for 14 years. Can you think of something you would pray about for 14 years?
For me, it was a loved one. Someone I cherished and saw the good, even when they didn’t.
When Sarah was 13 years old she started down a path that led to drugs, cutting, abuse, jail time and more. My beautiful sister lived in a very dark place for a long time. My family tried to help her, but she was lost to us. Yet as far away as she was during those years, God never forgot her. He never left her.
Today she stood in front of our church and shared her journey: the pain, the consequences, and then she shared the joy of knowing Christ.
It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. She cried, but they were tears of sorrow over the lost years. She knows now that she is loved. She is loved beyond measure.
Today my prayers were answered. My sister understands God’s love.
When she was buried with Christ and then raised to new life, we cried. Her baptism is about more than just a person professing to follow Christ. It’s about closing a chapter and looking forward with hope.
She shared this moment with my own children who were baptized today. We watched as the next generation stepped forward in faith. They adore their Aunt Sarah and I know they see her as Christ does, full of love and laughter. She has been redeemed. Her past is behind her and she looks to the future with promise.
Stay strong, prayer warriors. God hears every word uttered in desperation. He knows the pain. You can trust Him to pull the lost sheep back into His fold. ย It might not happen today or this yearย but never lose hope.
God is so good! Praising Him for His faithfulness!

What a beautiful tribute to God for answered prayer and a life redeemed! As well as a beautiful picture of a sister’s love and perseverance in asking God to intercede in the life of her wounded and much loved younger sister. It was a delight to witness Sarah’s testimony and baptism today, as well as your precious son & daughter’s statement of faith. You stated it well Stacey… looking forward with hope & a future! She never looked more beautiful than she did today. She was truly glowing from the love of Jesus. Her humbleness and beautiful testimony is something I will never forget. I couldn’t be more proud of her and who she is.

This story brings me hope for my two adult children’s salvation and their dad’s salvation. Fifteen years ago, our family of four was torn apart by a divorce. All these years I’ve been praying for these three loved ones. My prayers have not been a daily constant as they were in the first few years after their dad left. Nevertheless, I’ve not given up hope that all three of them would turn back to God.
