My Thoughts:

I’ve been a fan of Laura Frantz since I read her first book The Frontiersman’s Daughter many years ago. I’ve anxiously waited for each new book she has written. It has become a “thing” in our house. When a book by Laura arrives my family knows that I will be lost in my reading world until I finish it. I’m thankful my husband understands this need I have to read her amazing books.

When I cracked open The Mistress of Tall Acre, I was instantly transported back in time. I met Seamus as he was introduced to his newborn daughter. In that first scene we learn he is a man who loves deeply, is loyal, and protective. What a hero!

In the first chapter, five years later we meet Lily Cate. We fall in love with this child who yearns for love but doesn’t understand how to ask her father for it. A man who scares her, because he’s wounded from his time served in the war. We ache for her tender heart.

Then there is Sophie, the thread that weaves this wonderful love story together. A beautiful soul, needing to be rescued but unsure of who she can trust. Ohhh, how I enjoyed this book. Laura brought historical details to life so naturally. You see what it’s like to live that time period because you experience it through the characters words and actions. Laura does a flawless job of bringing it life.

A powerful story of redemption, loyalty, and love.

5 stars… all the way. If you haven’t read one of Laura’s books, then start with this one.

    1. Caryl, I was so excited the day it arrived. I immediately sat down and started reading. Twelve hours later I was done! That’s the bad thing about finishing one of Laura’s books, you have to wait a year until the next release. If only she would write faster. 😉 Thanks for responding. I’ve entered your name.

  5. Stacey! You have many blogger friends here and I can’t tell you how blessed and touched I am by their gracious words! Love your question and their answers. it also means so much to hear Lael’s story is special to you. Just this week the narrator for TFD came out of the blue in a blind audition and blew us away. I’ll be sure to share an excerpt when it goes audio. And it’s wonderful to know Morrow isn’t forgotten and see those Ballantynes and TCL mentioned, too.

Your giveaway is a delightful surprise but your generosity is NOT. I look forward to doing the same for you, my friend. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. ❤

  6. Goodness, hard to choose! I would cheat and say it’s a tie between The Colonel’s Lady and Courting Morrow Little. Maybe Colonel’s Lady just because it was my first Laura Frantz book. Sigh. So sweeping and romantic.

Thanks for the chance to win her latest!
