ACFW Conference

September 9, 2014 11:13 am

A fellow writer, Laurie Tomlinson, is hosting a pre-ACFW mixer on her blog. You answer the following questions, then link it to her blog.  It’s a fun way for writers to get to know each other before the conference. Some of you may be asking yourself… ACFW.. what?  It’s the American Christian Fiction Writer’s Conference, which is held once a year. This year it will be held in St. Louis at the end of September. Those of us who write Christian Fiction get pretty excited about going, because it’s an opportunity to network with like-minded writers, sell our unpublished books, and learn more about our craft. It’s also a ton of fun! Lots of laughing, hugging, and talking.

Here are my questions:

Name: Stacey Zink

Location: Houston, TX

What you write/tagline/trademark: Historical & Contemporary Romance / “Experience Faith and Fiction”

Place in the book world:  I have finished two manuscripts/books (one historical and one contemporary). I will pitch both at the conference. I’m working on my third contemporary.

On a scale of hugger to 10-foot-pole, please rate your personal space: I’m a hugger. Love to hug.

The unique talking point that will get you going for hours: Books and current writing projects.

Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My husband, 6 year old son, and 9 year old daughter.

Conference goals we can pray for? Peace of mind and the right words during my pitches. I’m meeting with an agent and editor. That my books will find the right home.

Anything we can celebrate with you? I’m just very thankful that I get to attend the conference this year and can’t wait to see how God works in my life and those around me.

One or two ways we can help you build your platform? Yes! You can like my author page on Facebook and follow me on Twitter.

  1. Great to meet you, Stacey! My sister lives in Houston. We were just there last weekend visiting her. We played tennis at the Briar Club, attended church at Houston’s First, and toured the Space Center. Fun!
