Trusting in Him

My blog has been a little quiet over the last few weeks for a good reason. Shortly after I posted my follow up about the conference a few weeks ago, I received an email from a publisher I met at the ACFW conference. This publisher requested that I submit a proposal on the book I am currently writing. The last few weeks have been filled with: learning how to write a proposal, gathering the information I need, writing my book, putting together the proposal and so on. It has been incredibly exciting, but also a tad bit stressful.

As I sit here at my desk and type this up, I think back to a year ago. I never would have believed that I would be writing to a publishing house about a book I am writing. God has opened door after door during the last year and I am incredibly humbled by His faith in me and His blessings in my life. I told a friend a while back that I don’t know why I was given this story, but I know God has placed it my heart for reason. She replied, “Maybe God isn’t finished with the whole story yet, so you don’t know the reason why He gave it to you.” I realized when she said those words that God was still working out the details of this story. I am the pen, He is the Author. I am thankful for what He is doing in my life, even if this book ends up sitting in my desk drawer gathering dust, I am thankful that He gave me the opportunity to write it. Through the act of writing the words, I have grown closer to God and there is nothing that compares to that experience.

As I come to mind, please pray for me over the next few weeks as I finish up the proposal and send it off. I have been told by the publisher that it will take months before I hear anything. To be honest, I can’t imagine them buying my book! It is just beyond belief, but God tells us that we can do all things through Him.

Writing for His Glory,

Stacey

  1. That’s amazing news Stacey! It is my prayer for everyone in our writer’s group that each one of us will some day hold our own published book in our hands. To God be the glory, great things He has done!!!

  3. You are the sweetest person and I’m sure it will all work out. You really believe in what you say about God and I love that. You don’t just talk the talk, you actually walk the walk..

After reading my comment, I’m sure I’ll see my name in the acknowledgments. 🙂
